Three-Point Molly in Craps: Combined Stakes and Shared Risk

Three-Point Molly is a name for an arrangement combining a Pass Line wager with Come wagers, often with added odds. Its purpose is commonly described as maintaining several established points. That creates several stakes affected by the same dice; it does not create independent protection or a positive expected return.

What the Name Describes

Descriptions generally involve the table’s Pass Line point and up to two separate Come points. The exact active positions change as wagers settle. A Come wager on its first roll is not yet an established point and has different settlement rules.

It is therefore misleading to promise three numbers are always covered or that every roll produces a payout. Point formation and settlement depend on the actual sequence.

Count All Underlying and Odds Stakes

As an accounting example, three underlying stakes of $5 with $10 odds on each total $45 exposed when all six components are active. Calling the arrangement a “$5 system” omits most of that money.

A suggested reserve of 50 base units does not guarantee safety or a minimum session length. Replacing settled wagers or increasing odds changes the cumulative turnover and can continue adding exposure.

A Seven Can Affect Several Positions Together

When the table point and two Come points are established and all their odds are working, a 7 can lose all those stakes at once. The presence of several numbered boxes does not make the risks independent.

A new Come wager still in its first-roll stage wins on 7, but that win must be compared with every simultaneous loss. On a new table come-out, an established Come wager and its odds may also have different working defaults. A general “internal hedge” claim omits these conditions.

Zero-Edge Components Do Not Cancel the Base Loss

True-odds additions have zero expected gain or loss under a fair-dice model. The underlying Pass and Come wagers still carry their conventional expected loss. A lower percentage quoted against a larger combined stake does not show that expected dollar loss has disappeared.

A larger possible payout on one point is balanced by its probability. More favourable-looking stake ratios do not guarantee recovery after previous losses.

Hot Shooters and Stopping Rules

The probability of 7 on the next independent fair-dice roll is 6/36, regardless of how long the shooter has held the dice. A long sequence does not make 7 overdue or make the next point repeat more likely.

Stopping or reducing activity can limit further exposure, but is not a way to predict when a run will end. A profit target cannot guarantee that a profitable state will be reached.
