Sweet Bonanza Review: Tumbles, Scatter Pays and Multipliers

Sweet Bonanza is a Pragmatic Play slot that evaluates matching symbols anywhere on a six-reel, five-row grid. It differs from games that require a fixed line or touching cluster. This explanation covers the original slot, with separate notes on similarly named editions.

Matching Symbols and Tumbles

The publisher describes awards for eight or more matching regular symbols anywhere on the grid, with payout bands depending on the count. Qualifying symbols are removed and replacements fall into place. Further qualifying matches can continue the tumble sequence within the same paid round.

“Pay anywhere” describes positions, not a promise that every arrangement pays. A replacement grid can have no qualifying group. Several small tumble awards may still return less than the total amount charged for the round.

Free Spins and Multiplier Symbols

Pragmatic Play’s original-game page describes four to six scatters awarding ten free spins. Multiplier symbols ranging from 2x to 100x can appear during the feature. Their values are added together and applied to the qualifying tumble win according to the rules.

For example, qualifying 10x and 50x multipliers total 60x, rather than multiplying together to make 500x. If the applicable tumble win were C$0.50, applying 60x would produce C$30. The example illustrates arithmetic, not the likelihood of that outcome. A multiplier without an applicable win does not by itself establish a cash award.

Costs and Configured Figures

Where a version offers an enhanced stake option or bonus buy, check the actual price and the affected rules. A claim about an increased feature chance does not mean the whole game becomes profitable or that each added cost is recovered. Availability and prices should not be assumed identical across Canadian services.

Original and Other Editions

Sweet Bonanza 1000, Sweet Bonanza 2500 and the live game Sweet Bonanza CandyLand are separate products. A multiplier shown in one edition should not be copied into the original’s rules. Pragmatic Play’s June 2024 announcement describes up to 1,000x multiplier symbols in the 1000 edition; that does not change the original’s stated 100x symbol limit.
