The same roll can therefore win one wager and lose another. This guide covers conventional bank craps with bar-12 Don’t Come rules unless stated otherwise.

Additional active points also mean additional stakes. They do not diversify away the shared effect of a 7, and no table history makes a future result certain.

What is a Come Bet?

A Come Bet functions almost identically to a Pass Line bet, with one major difference: it can only be placed after the shooter has established a point on the come-out roll.

How the Come Bet Works

When you place your chips in the “Come” area of the digital table, the very next roll of the dice acts as a mini “come-out” roll just for your bet:

7 or 11: Your Come bet wins immediately (Even Money).

2, 3, or 12: Your Come bet loses immediately.

4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10: This number becomes your “Come Point.” Your bet is moved to the box corresponding to that number. To win, that number must be rolled again before the shooter rolls a 7.

What is a Don’t Come Bet?

Don’t Come has different first-roll rules, including a barred total. After its own point is established, it wins on 7 before that number and loses if that number appears first. The barred total makes it different from a perfect inverse of Come.

How the Don’t Come Bet Works

After the main point is established, you place your wager in the “Don’t Come” bar. The next roll determines the outcome:

2 or 3: You win immediately.

12: Under bar-12 rules this is a push, with no profit or loss. Some tables bar 2 instead.

7 or 11: You lose immediately.

4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10: This becomes your point. You are now hoping the shooter rolls a 7 before they roll that specific number again.

Different Bets Can Settle Differently

Suppose the table point is 6, an earlier Come wager is established on 8, and another Come wager is on its first roll. If 7 appears, the Pass Line and established Come-8 wagers lose, while the new Come wager wins at 1:1. Its win does not necessarily cover the other losses.

Under conventional fair-dice calculations, Come has approximately 1.41% house edge per initial stake. Don’t Come with bar 12 has approximately 1.36% when pushed initial wagers are included. These are expected-loss measures, not guarantees for a session.

Adding Odds to Come and Don’t Come Bets

An additional odds stake may be allowed once the relevant Come or Don’t Come point is established. The permitted amount and working status depend on the rules.

Come Odds: You are taking odds. This bet has zero house edge and pays out at true mathematical odds (e.g., 2:1 on a 4 or 10).

Don’t Come Odds: You are “laying” odds. You must wager more than you stand to win (e.g., laying $10 to win $5 on a 4 or 10), but the reduced payout balances the greater probability. At true odds, this component has zero expected advantage for either side under the fair-dice model.

Adding a zero-edge odds stake lowers a percentage measured against a larger combined amount, but it does not remove the expected dollar loss of the underlying bet. The additional stake can also be lost.

Come-Out Working Status

Established Come bets and their odds components can have different default working states on a new come-out roll. A common rule leaves the base wager working while its odds are off, but the specific table rules control. The main point puck alone does not describe every active wager.

A Cold Table Is Not a Prediction

Recent quick sevens do not establish that another 7 will occur before a point. Switching bet types after a perceived streak does not protect a balance or change fair independent-dice probabilities.

See Pass and Don’t Pass, working-status markers, taking and laying odds, and Three-Point Molly claims.
