Craps Table Markers: Point Pucks and Working Status<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Craps markers identify the main point and particular bet conditions. A large ON\/OFF puck and a small marker on one chip stack can describe different things. Reading one does not establish the status of every wager on the table.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Main Point Puck<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In conventional bank craps, an OFF puck indicates that no table point is active and the next roll is a come-out roll. A natural or craps total can settle line bets while leaving the game in that phase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10 becomes the point, the puck is turned ON and placed at that number. A repeat of the point settles Pass Line as a win; 7 before the point settles it as a loss. Other wagers may have different outcomes on the same roll.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Individual ON and OFF Markers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A marker attached to a particular wager can show whether that bet is working. An off wager normally does not win or lose on the roll, subject to the rules. The table point puck being OFF does not mean all existing wagers are inactive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Default treatment of place bets, hardways and odds on a come-out roll varies. The odds component and its underlying Come wager may also have different working defaults. A general claim that every hardway or place bet is off would be unreliable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BUY and LAY Markers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A BUY marker distinguishes a buy wager from a place wager, while LAY identifies a wager on 7 before the specified number under its own payout and commission rules. A lay wager wins on the qualifying 7, not when its numbered point appears.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A marker does not alone prove whether commission was collected upfront or will be collected after a win. The charge, rounding and collection conditions need to be identified separately. Laying odds behind a Don\u2019t wager is also different from a standalone lay bet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Contract Bets and Cancellation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A conventional Pass Line or established Come wager is a contract bet that generally cannot simply be removed after its point is established. This is a rule about the wager, not evidence that every table uses a separate \u201ccontract\u201d button. Other bet types have different removal or working-status rules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Side-Bet Tracking Markers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Some tables use markers to track distinct points or totals for an optional side bet. Those markers identify progress under that side bet\u2019s exact conditions. They do not imply that everyone at the table has a qualifying stake or will receive a jackpot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A side bet may define when its sequence begins, what resets it and which outcomes qualify. The main point being completed does not automatically complete every side bet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Physical and Digital Displays<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Physical markers are managed by the table crew. A suspected discrepancy can be described to the dealer rather than moving equipment. Digital interfaces may use highlights or text instead; the accepted-bet record is separate from a decorative display.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
